MonumentalVoice does not collect, transmit, or sell any of your data. Everything - audio processing, transcription, and note generation - happens on your device. We do not operate a server, and the app makes no network requests to us or to any analytics or advertising provider.
What the app does on your device
- Microphone audio is captured only while you are actively recording, and is processed live by Apple’s on-device Speech framework to produce a transcript. Raw audio is not retained after transcription.
- The transcript is used by Apple Intelligence (Apple’s on-device language model, where available on your device) to generate a summary, key points, action items and open questions.
- Transcripts, notes and settings (highlighted words, auto-corrections, energy sensitivity) are stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. They are included in your device’s normal iCloud/iTunes backups if you have those enabled at the system level, the same as any other app’s local data. MonumentalVoice itself does not sync or upload this data.
What we do not do
- We do not run any servers that MonumentalVoice talks to.
- We do not collect analytics, crash reports, advertising identifiers, or usage statistics.
- We do not have user accounts, sign-in, or any way to identify you.
- We do not share, sell, or transmit your recordings, transcripts, or notes to any third party.
Third-party hand-off (user-initiated only)
MonumentalVoice includes an optional “Ask ChatGPT” button on each note. Tapping it opens your transcript in your own ChatGPT app or browser via a link you explicitly choose to tap. This is entirely your action - MonumentalVoice does not send anything automatically, and if you never tap that button nothing leaves your device.
Data deletion
You can delete any single note from within the app at any time, or delete every saved note at once from Settings > Delete all notes. Because nothing is stored anywhere but your device, deleting it in the app deletes it completely.
Children
MonumentalVoice is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect information from anyone at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it. Any material change affecting what the app does with your data (for example, adding an account system or a network feature) will be reflected here before it ships.
