MonumentalVoice turns spoken meetings into transcripts and notes, entirely on your iPhone or iPad. It works fully offline: there is no account, no server, and nothing you say is ever uploaded anywhere.
Getting started
- Open MonumentalVoice and tap “Start listening.”
- Allow microphone and speech recognition access when asked. Both are required to transcribe.
- Leave the phone on the table. The live transcript builds as people talk.
- Tap “Stop & save notes” when the meeting ends. MonumentalVoice writes a summary, key points, action items and open questions from what was said.
- Find every past meeting in the archive on the home screen. Star the important ones, color-tag by project, or search across everything you’ve recorded.
Common questions
Why is the summary empty?
Summaries, key points and action items are written by Apple Intelligence, running on-device. Apple Intelligence needs a supported device (iPhone 15 Pro or newer, or an Apple silicon iPad) with it turned on in Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri. The live transcript still works on any supported device - only the automatic notes require Apple Intelligence.
Does MonumentalVoice upload my recordings or transcripts?
No. Speech recognition and summarization both run on-device. MonumentalVoice makes no network requests of its own. The only exception is if you tap “Ask ChatGPT” on a note - that’s a deliberate, one-tap action that hands the transcript to your own ChatGPT app or browser. Nothing is sent unless you choose to do that.
How do I delete my data?
Delete a single note by swiping it in the list, or from the trash icon inside the note. To remove everything at once, go to Settings > Delete all notes. Deleting is permanent and cannot be undone.
Why does it say “Downloading speech model”?
The first time you use a language, iOS downloads a small on-device speech model via Apple’s own system framework (SFSpeechRecognizer). This happens once per language and does not require MonumentalVoice itself to have network access beyond what iOS handles at the system level.
What languages are supported?
English and Ukrainian at launch.
